The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) held a public hearing in Daejeon, South Korea, on Tuesday, revealing that it is planning to develop a five-seat hybrid vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

Apart from being able to carry five people, including the pilot, the aircraft will also target a range of over 200 kilometers, with a flight time of more than 60 minutes and a payload capacity of 600 kilograms or more. The agency plans to make four prototypes by 2032.

The aircraft is set to run on a mixture of batteries and engines, which, the KASA said, would allow it to hold heavier payloads and extend the flying distance.
